ABSTRACT:
We conducted this study to estimate the awareness about government maternity benefit schemes among women attending antenatal clinics. The objectives of the study: To assess the knowledge of reproductive age women regarding the benefits of government schemes. To find out the association between the level of knowledge regarding benefits of government schemes among reproductive age women and selected demographic variables.
The research design adopted was a non-experimental descriptive survey design. The conceptual framework for this study was based on "Preventive Health Behavior" formulated by Dr. Pender. The study has been conducted in a rural community area at Madhapar, Rajkot. Non-probability purposive sampling technique had been adopted to select the desired sample. The sample size was 50. The collected data were analyzed by using both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Chi-square test was used to associate the level of knowledge with their selected demographic variables. Age, number of pregnancies, and number of live children were significant with this association. In this study, we have got findings that 32 (64%) reported inadequate knowledge, 18 (36%) reported moderate knowledge, and none of them have adequate knowledge.
