ABSTRACT:
Breastfeeding is recognized as the ideal source of infant nutrition. Working mothers often face challenges in continuing breastfeeding after returning to work, making proper breast milk storage essential for maintaining the safety and quality of expressed milk. Structured educational programs help improve mothers’ knowledge and practices related to breast milk expression, storage, and handling. This review examines the impact of educational interventions on breast milk storage knowledge and practices among working mothers. Studies indicate that counselling, demonstrations, audio-visual teaching, and digital education improve awareness, confidence, and breastfeeding continuation. However, factors such as workplace support, maternal education, and availability of lactation facilities also influence successful breastfeeding practices. The review highlights the importance of integrating breastfeeding education and supportive workplace policies to promote safe breast milk storage and continued breastfeeding among working mothers.
