ABSTRACT:
Maternal–Fetal Medicine (MFM) is undergoing rapid transformation driven by advances in biomarker science, artificial intelligence (AI), digital health technologies, fetal therapeutics, and genomic medicine. Contemporary obstetric practice increasingly emphasizes early risk stratification, individualized surveillance, and long-term maternal health optimization. Angiogenic biomarkers have improved prediction and diagnosis of preeclampsia, while machine learning models enhance fetal imaging interpretation and adverse outcome prediction. Telemedicine and remote monitoring platforms have expanded access to high-risk pregnancy care, particularly for hypertensive and diabetic disorders. Additionally, pregnancy complications are now recognized as early indicators of future cardiovascular and metabolic disease, prompting integration of obstetric care into lifelong preventive health strategies. This narrative review synthesizes emerging developments in maternal and fetal medicine, evaluates their clinical implications, and outlines future research priorities for precision obstetrics.
